Hovedinnhold

COIL is a pedagogical innovation to create 4–10-week modules co-taught with a professor abroad in which students utilize online technologies to collaborate with international peers in shared lectures, discussions, and project-based learning assignments. To learn more, you can watch a short introduction to the COIL modality.

This workshop is for those of you who are new to COIL and interested in connecting students and professors across borders for collaborative coursework, enhancing intercultural interaction and providing cost-effective global engagement opportunities.

We're excited to welcome John E. Fowler and Veronica Onorevole of the VE/COIL Institute at the American Association of Colleges and Universities (AAC&U), who will share their expertise. The same goes for Kari Jegerstedt and Silje Mari Mo from UiB’s Centre for Women's and Gender Research (SKOK), and Jose A. Albuquerque de Sousa from NHH's Department of Finance, who will share their COIL experiences.

AAC&U is visiting UiB as part of the Norwegian Panorama VE/COIL Partnerships Initiative in collaboration with the Norwegian Directorate for Higher Education and Skills (HK-dir).

Here's what you can expect:

  • Learn from AAC&U experts and local colleagues about effective internationalization strategies spanning all disciplines
  • Gain insights into how COIL can enrich your students' learning experience and your own research endeavors
  • Explore practical and interdisciplinary approaches to integrating COIL into your courses

The workshop is open to 30 participants.
