New Workshop series on academic English

Leipzig University has organised a workshop series for all Arqus students that are interested in improving their academic English skills.

Hovedinnhold

Students can take part in just one or even all four workshops. There are no prerequisites. Please register here!

Workshop I: Common Errors. 13 December 2021, 16:00–18:15 CET.

The first workshop will address typical errors that intermediate and advanced learners of English face while making the transition from school English to the level required for studying at university. Join us to tackle these challenges in Part I of the four-part workshop series Academic English before Christmas.

Workshop II: Pronunciation Practice. 14 December 2021, 16:00–18:15 CET.

Join us to tackle some common pronunciation challenges in Part II of the four-part workshop series.

Workshop III: Academic Discussions. 16 December 2021, 16:00–18:15 CET.

In Part III we will take on some of the most common academic discussion challenges. Join us if you find it difficult to participate successfully in academic discussions in English due to shyness or a lack of grammar knowledge and vocabulary.

Workshop IV: Academic Presentations. 17 December 2021, 16:00–18:15 CET.

The last session of this workshop series will put the focus on academic presentations. Join us to gain practical tips for presenting successfully in English.

For any enquiries, please contact Jupp Möhring: al4_arqus@uni-leipzig.de.

Please note that the number of places for this workshop series is limited to a maximum of 28. There are 4 places per each university, and these will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. If there are fewer than 4 registrations from one university, the remaining places will be given to those on the waiting list, regardless of their affiliation to a partner university.
