Hovedinnhold

Ida Kvilhaug Sekanina has started as a PhD candidate at the MUCS project. Her PhD project will look into how Norwegian local communities tackle the big challenges of our society: climate change and the COVID-19 pandemic. Her project will apply etnographic methods to understand how different operators experience and interpret these phenomena.

Ida has her master's at Media studies from UiB, and studied Facebook activism in her master's thesis project. She has previously worked as a research assistant at the Department of information and media studies, where she worked with transcribing interviews and data collection. Her research interests are in media use, internet culture and democracy.

"I'm looking forward to using my knowledge by immersing myself into different climate discourses, and to my best ability understand the perhaps biggest and most important societal change of our lifetime", she says.
