Employee participation is exercised through mutual exchange of information, discussions, and negotiations.

The right to employee participation for the entire organisation at UiB is exercised in the Negotiation Committee (FU) through information, discussions, and negotiations between the employer and the organisation's union representatives according to the Main Agreement (HA) §§ 11 - 13.
For the employer, the HR Director participates, while for the employees, representatives from (the different unions) Akademikerne, Forskerforbundet, Norsk Tjenestemannslag/LO Stat, and Parat participate. The University Chief Safety delegate is an observer in the committee.
The Information and Consultation Committee (IDU) ensures employee participation according to HA §§ 11 og 12 at the faculties, the University Library, the University Museum, and in the central administration. Further information about IDU can be found on their respective websites.IDU websites.
