Jeg er interessert i diversitet, systematikk og økologi av nestledyr (Cnidaria: Medusozoa) og ribbemaneter (Ctenophora). I senere tid har mitt arbeid fokusert på integrativ morfologisk og molekylær taksonomi av disse grupper, inklusiv referansebibliotek av DNA-strekkoder. Min forskning dekker også deskriptive studier på faunistikk og utbredelse av maneter i rom og tid basert på bade fysisk prøvetaking og optiske metoder, forsøk rundt manetenes økologiske og trofiske roller i pelagialen, samt modellering av tidsserier av manetforekomster.
