Bruce Kapferer gives the Huxley Memorial Lecture 2011
The Huxley Memorial Lecture will be held at the British Museum 16 December 2011.
The Huxley Memorial Medal and Lecture is a distinction instituted in 1900 and organized by the British Royal Anthropological Institute. This year the honour is bestowed upon Professor Bruce Kapferer from the Department of Social Anthropology, UiB who will give a lecture with the title:
"How Anthropologists Think: Refiguring the Exotic"
The lecture is held Friday 16 December 2011, 5.30pm, in the Stevenson Theatre, Clore Education Centre, the British Museum, Great Russell Street, London WC1B 3DG.
Prior recipients include Professor Johannes Fabian, Professor Maurice Godelier, Professor Adam Kuper, Professor Dame Marilyn Strathern, Professor Gannanath Obeyesekere, Professor Pierre Bourdieu and Professor Mary Douglas.
