Senior researcher PhD Helga Midtbø presented new data from the FATCOR study at the European Society of Cardiology Congress in Barcelona in August 2022. Her research demonstrates a higher level of inflammatory markers in the blood in obese women than their male counterparts. A strong relation between physical activity and the level of inflammatory markers in the blood was found. In particular, unfit obese women had the highest level of these inflammatory markers.
