The Geophysics group is involved in the VISTA Centre for Modelling of Coupled Subsurface Dynamics

The research center CSD targets how the subsurface is deformed as a result of injection and production of fluids. This occurs in production of hydrocarbons and geothermal energy, storage of energy or CO₂ in the subsurface, or by disposal of wastewater. In VISTA CSD, the geophysics group is currently focusing on the development of methodology for seismic imaging, micro-seismic source localization and quantification of the earthquake risk related to CO₂ storage.
