Authority Chart

The authority vested in the University of Bergen, according to the Universities and University Colleges Act (uhl) and other foundations, primarily resides with the University Board. All decisions made by bodies other than the University Board are made on behalf of and under the responsibility of the Board. For this reason, it is incumbent upon the Board and other superior bodies to supervise the activities of subordinate bodies. Furthermore, the University Board has the right and duty to determine the internal organisation of the institution at all levels.

The purpose of the authority map is to provide an overview of the internal distribution of authority and powers to bind UiB to external parties, as well as the rules for delegation at the University of Bergen.
