Information about fire safety procedures at UiB.

In the case of fire or the fire alarm sounding:

  • ALERT by sounding the fire alarm
  • Call the fire brigade on 110
  • Try to SAVE
  • Try to EXTINGUISH
  • Close doors and windows
  • EVACUATE to the fire assembly point
  • Follow the instructions of the fire safety officer
  • Do not use lifts

Digital fire safety course

All employees are requirered to complete a digital fire safety course once a year. Reminder will be sent by email, but you can also take the coures by following this link: TIV Kurs.

Concerning fire drills at UiB

Regular fire drills should be held in any specific fire object (building). It is also recommended that fire drills are conducted in buildings not considered specific fire objects.

Special fire objects

The fire brigade perform inspections with buildings that are defined as special fire objects, Section 13 in the Norwegian Fire and Explosion Act.
