The academia of Europe - Annual conference

The Academia Europaea is a European, non-governmental association acting as an Academy. The members are scientists and scholars who collectively aim to promote learning, education and research.

Each year the Academia organises an international conference, as an integral part of the annual general meeting. These conferences aim to engage all sectional interests of the Academia and are therefore broad in scope and of a highly interdisciplinary nature.

The Academy was founded in 1988, and has over 2000 members from thirty five European countries and eight non-European countries. The membership includes leading experts from the physical sciences and technology, biological sciences and medicine, mathematics, the letters and humanities, social and cognitive sciences, economics and the law.

University of Bergen is the host for the 24th annual conference.
