Department of Clinical Dentistry

Welcome to Department of Clinical Dentistry

The Department is responsible for the education of dental surgeons and dental hygienists at the University of Bergen.

The programme "Master of Dentistry" is varied with instruction within biological, medical and dental subjects as well as clinical training.

The programme "Bachelor of Dental Hygiene" educates the students in the areas of health promotion and disease prevention.

The Univeristy's Dental Clinic focuses on prevention, diagnostics and treatment of disease and damaged teeth, oral cavity and jaws.

The Department's research facilities and scientific work enviroment maintain a high, international standard. It is also responsible for educating scientists and postgraduate studies in odontology.

Melanie Ostermann has received an award for her presentation at the International Conference of Nanoparticles.


Winner of the Idea Competition 2016

Prof. Kamal Mustafa and his research team from the Department of Clinical Dentistry were awarded the prize by BTO and Sparebanken Vest.
