Course description
Objectives and Content
Learning Outcomes
A student who has completed the course should have the following learning outcomes defined in terms of knowledge, skills and general competence:
Knowledge
The student
- knows central concepts in current interactive user interfaces and interactive applications
- has knowledge about prototyping and different types of prototyping activities.
- has knowledge of design principles and design guidelines
- knows about the advantages and disadvantages for of low-fidelity and high-fidelity prototyping
- knows about central concepts on user involvement and different ways of involving users in design activities and the implications of such involvement
Skills
The student
- can use prototyping tools (such as Figma, Adobe XD, Axure)
- can use techniques such as sketching and wireframing for constructing prototypes
- can plan, facilitate and arrange activities for user involvement in design

Compulsory Assignments and Attendance
- Assignments that must be completed and approved.
- Compulsory participation labs (at least 75%).
Approved compulsory requirements are valid for the two following semesters.
Forms of Assessment
- Written exam (3 hours): 60% of the total grade
- Group assignment: 40% of the total grade
The exam assignment will be given in the language of instruction in the course.The exam answer must be submitted in the same language as the exam assignment.

Regarding retake exam:
School exam:
A retake exam is arranged for students with valid absence according to UiBs study regulations § 5-5.If there is a retake exam for students valid absence, students with the following results/absences can register for the exam:
- Interruption during the exam
- Fail/failed
Students can register themselves in Studentweb after January 15/August 1
Individual assignment:
Students with valid absence as defined in the UiB regulations § 5-5 can apply for an extended submission deadline to eksamen.infomedia@uib.no. The application must be submitted before the deadline for submission has expired.
