Hovedinnhold

This is a cross national study initiated by Professors Kwok Leung and Michael H. Bond and involves over 50 different countries including Norway and Ghana (i.e., our contribution).

The aim of the project is to classify the countries of the world along 5-belief dimensions (Social cynicisms, Reward for application, Social complexity, Fate control and Religiosity).

The first phase of the study involved the administration of a 60-item questionnaire that was developed following a review of published materials of belief statements.

The second phase of the project involves generating a new set of belief statements through interviewing locally informed people about beliefs that prevail in their society. This portion of the study involves about 10 countries, including Ghana. These interviews have recently been carried out in Ghana, and are being transcribed.
