Late Jurassic tectonostratigraphic evolution of the eroded Brage horst area
This Master's project was assigned to Lenya Kamal Karim who started the Master's program in Earth sciences, UiB, fall 2025. The Master's project is given by the research group Geodynamics and basin studies.

Project description
The aim is to explore the source-to-sink system associated with the Brage horst and the graben between the Brage and Oseberg fields using well information and seismic data. The following tasks will be covered:
• Seismic interpretation of key horizons and faults. Well information and surfaces for guidance will be provided by OKEA.
• Simple structural restoration of selected sections, selected on the basis of well information and seismic quality.
• Investigate the relationship between the erosion of the Brage horst, structural evolution and depocenter history (stratigraphic thickness variations) in the graben between Brage and Oseberg.
• Study fault segment development and linkage trough time of the Brage main fault
• Interpret erosion product fairways from the horst into the graben, and sediment transport inside the graben.
• The rectangle in the map may alternatively be shifted southwards, so that focus is on the Bestla structure, instead of the Veslefrikk structure.
