Hovedinnhold

ABSTRACT

With advances in computing technology, all parts of society take decisions based on complex and processed data. Critical for the decision-making process is the communication of relevant information itself as well as an understanding of the data sources and applied processing techniques. This requires novel interaction techniques for exploring and visualizing data beyond exploring data at the desktop display. I will show examples of how to explore data on multiple mobile devices, how to interact with large high-resolution displays and how information can be projected into industrial workplaces.

BIO

Lars Lischke is since March 2019 Assistant Professor for Human-Computer Interaction at the Vrije Universiteit (VU) Amsterdam in the Netherlands. In his research, he focuses on the interaction with large high-resolution displays and interactive visualizations for complex data. Before joining the Computer Science Department at the VU Amsterdam, Lars worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Future Everyday group at TU Eindhoven. He received in 2018 his Ph.D. from the University of Stuttgart, Germany. During his Ph.D., he worked as Researcher in the Human-Computer Interaction Group within the Institute for Visualisation and Interactive Systems (VIS) at the University of Stuttgart. His research was embedded in the EU H2020 project CIMPLEX and the Simulation Technology (SimTech) Cluster of Excellence.
