3. The patchwork

Here we present heathers with a wide range of colours throughout the year, but particularly extending into the autumn. In ‘the patchwork’ we primarily show forms of Calluna vulgaris (common heather), of which cultivars have generally proven to be less robust:

• ‘The colourful ones’ includes cultivars displaying a wide range of foliage colours
• ‘The faithful’ are a collection of hardiest varieties for Norwegian gardens, sourced locally from material collected at different elevations and localities - from the coast to well inland.
• ‘The patchwork’ displays a wide selection of flower colours and forms, with double flowers and bud bloomers, as well as different leaf colours and growth forms.
