Fazle Rabbi

Associate Professor Fazle Rabbi has long and varied experience with information system development within a large spectrum of domain areas. His research interest includes model-based software engineering, data mining and machine learning, with emphasis on addressing the information science problems in healthcare applications. There are many interesting problems in the healthcare domain which fascinates him to take new challenges to solve them with scientific rigor. He is enthusiastic to improving the quality of living through his contribution in healthcare. He is involved in a collaborative project (intromat.no) with Western Norway University of Applied Science, Haukeland University Hospital, Helse Bergen and Helse Vest IKT in Norway for improving public mental health through adaptive technology. The project aims to include innovative technology in improving public mental health in Norway.

Earlier, he was involved in academic research for developing reliable workflow management systems for two community-based health programs piloted in Guysborough Antigonish Strait Health Authority (GASHA), Nova Scotia, Canada.

Fazle is also interested in innovating new techniques for teaching both in classroom and online platform. Together with researchers from Kenya and Vanderbilt University Medical Center he developed gamification approach for increasing student motivation and engagement in learning environments.
