Post.doc positions at Lund and Stockholm University

Four post-doc positions with up to four years of research on transnational actors, international institutions, and democracy in global governance

 Lund University and Stockholm University invite applications for four post-doc positions in political science, oriented toward research on transnational actors, international institutions, and democracy in global governance.


Two of the positions will be part of the research program ”Democracy Beyond the Nation-State?
Transnational Actors in Global Governance”, financed by Riksbankens Jubileumsfond and directed by Professor Christer Jönsson. The program will last for the period 2008 to 2013 and involve about 16 researchers at Lund University and Stockholm University. The other two positions will be part of the research project ”The Design of International Institutions:
Legitimacy, Effectiveness, and Distribution in Global Governance”, financed by the European Research Council and directed by Associate Professor Jonas Tallberg. The project will last for the period 2009 to 2013, involve about 8 researchers in Stockholm, and be conducted in cooperation with the program financed by Riksbankens Jubileumsfond. All four positions are two-year appointments, with the potential of an extension of an additional two years. The positions involve 80 percent research and 20 percent teaching. The positions are full time and the expected position start date the first half of 2009.

We seek candidates with a Ph.D. in political science, or corresponding, and competence within the areas of transnational actors, international institutions, and democracy in global governance. We are particularly interested in candidates with experience of comparative research on the global governance of environmental issues, trade, finance, development, human rights, health, security or migration.
