Hovedinnhold
Centre on Law & Social Transformation invites you to the seminar series on Law & Social Change: Interdisciplinary research on law: why and how?
Speakers:
- Jan Fridthjof Bernt, Professor Emeritus, Faculty of Law, University of Bergen
- Roger Strand, Professor, Centre for the Study of the Sciences and the Humanities, University of Bergen
- Siri Gloppen, Director, Centre on Law and Social Transformation and Professor, Department of Comparative Politics, University of Bergen
The Centre on Law and Social Transformation aims to be a dynamo for research on the potential and limits of law as an instrument of social change locally and globally. By bringing together scholars, students and practitioners from across institutions and academic fields around questions related to the functioning and effects of law and legal institutions we work to be a profoundly interdisciplinary centre. But why is interdisciplinary research on law and society important? How should it be done? And what are the possibilities and challenges and risks involved? Jan Fridthjof Bernt, Roger Strand and Siri Gloppen will share their experiences and thoughts on interdisciplinary research, and you are all invited to join the discussion.
During the spring of 2016 the Centre will host a number of meetings focusing on questions related to interdisciplinary research on law and social change.
