Prof. Dr. Arndt Sorge, Professor emeritus, WZB Berlin Social Science Center and Honorary Professor at the Faculty of Economics and Social Science, University of Potsdam.

He is an honorary member of EGOS European Group of Organizational Studies.

Arndt Sorge has a long lasting relation to the two departments, not the least through the cooperation with the researchers in the Multidisciplinary Group for the Study of Work & Society, AHS, since the 1980/90ies, especially related to his contributions to the development of the “societal effect approach” in the study of organizations.

Arndt Sorge has mainly worked in a variety of fields like international comparisons of management, organization, human resources, industrial relations and technical change.  He has held positions in universities and research institutes in the Netherlands, Germany, Britain and France.

Of his last books, see especially The Global and the Local. Understanding the Dialectics of Business Systems. Oxford University Press. 2005.
