Vision

Our vision is to contribute to the understanding of the molecular mechanism behind angiogenesis.

Angiogenesis is the term for blood vessel development from pre-existing vessels. Angiogenic processes play a role in a variety of severe diseases like cancer, diabetic retinopathy and psoriasis and it is therefore crucial to understand the complex interplay of the many different factors that induce the formation of new blood vessels. In order to achieve our goal we combine different methods and approaches going from molecular biology to in vivo tissue engineering.
