Services at MIC
MIC offers a wide range of services, ranging from access to instrumentation and equipment via courses and training to full service combining sample preparation with image acquisition and analysis carried out by our highly competent staff.
Sample preparation
We provide sample preparation and access to equipment and chemicals for carrying out paraffin embedding and EM sample preparation for TEM and SEM. For use in connection with sample preparation for fluorescence and confocal microscopy, we have a variety of antibody conjugates, fluorescent dyes, cover slips, and embedding media in our stock which the users can purchase at cost price in small quantities. We also have equipment for micro dissection that users can use independently.
Use of instruments & equipment
Through our booking pages, users can book and access our full range of instruments around the clock as long as adhering to our terms of use.
Courses & Training
MIC gives various courses throughout the year, covering most of our modalities. Please consult our Courses & Training to the left for detailed information on the courses.
We also provide individual training for new users and training on specific techniques upon request.
Assisted use and part time hiring of technical personnel
For researchers that themselves do not have the skills or time to carry out preparation, imaging or analysis themselves, we offer the assistance of our highly skilled technical staff. This can take the form either of sitting on the microscope and assisting in taking pictures or in the participation in a whole research project over a prolonged period. The former will be charged on an hourly basis For the latter, a position percentage needs to be agreed upon for the duration of the project. We feel comfortable that this is very attractive to the researchers as one can hire a highly skilled technician in a part of his/hers position on for a shorter or longer period without actually having to employ anyone.
