Visit to the Hanseatic Museum and Schøtstuene
This fantastic museum is one of the oldest wooden buildings in Bergen, furnished in 18th century style and shows how The Hanseatic League lived and worked.

The Hanseatic Museum is situated centrally on Bryggen one of the most popular attractions in Bergen. The museum shows how the German merchants from The Hanseatic League lived and worked. From 1350 to 1750 these merchants traded stock fish and grains from their office in Bergen.
Schøtstuene were assembly halls for the Hanseatic merchants during winter time and hot meals were served here. The buildings were also used for teaching and as courtrooms, meeting rooms and so on.
This is a fantastic museum where you will find furniture and original devices from the time when Bergen was a major city in the Hanseatic League
