Organisation of the IT division
UiB's Central IT division, managed by the IT Director, is organised in three sections and around twenty groups.
Main content
The IT division is one of UiBs seven central administrative units. Each of these has a Deputy Director as the manager and is subordinate to the University Director.
The IT division has more than 130 full time employees, about 30 students working part time and normally four apprentices.
The largest of the three sections of the IT Division is divided into three product groups for research, education and administration/communication respectively. All sections are divided into a total of about twenty groups.
Both the education sector and the IT department's subject area are constantly evolving. This requires a dynamic organization, where the structure is adjusted at irregular intervals.
