Announcement of the election to the NT-Faculty Board 2026
This spring there will be an election for group B and group D members of the NT-Faculty Board! The candidates are elected for the period of 01.08.2026 – 31.07.2027

Do you want to run for election to the faculty board or maybe you know someone who wants to run for election? Then submit a candidate proposal.
According to the Universities and University Colleges Act, representatives for group B (temporary academic staff) and group D (students) shall be elected to the faculty board every year. The candidates will be elected for the period 01.08.2026 - 31.07.2027.
The election will take place in the period 19th - 21st May 2026. The election starts at 09:00 on 19th May and ends at 12:00 on 21st May.
How to put forth proposals for members of the Faculty Board:
- l must be in writing
- The proposal must be signed by at least the same number of proposers as the number of candidates the proposal contains
- The proposer(s) must be entitled to vote in the election
- No one can sign more than one proposal
- All proposed candidates must be eligible
- If any candidate is entitled to exemption from election, a written consent from the candidate must be attached to the proposal
- The proposal must be submitted no later than 12 noon on 12th March
Submit your proposals by e-mail to gry.parker@uib.no. The written proposal must be attached.
IMPORTANT:
- Those who run for election must have a research activity that is compatible with the duty to attend the faculty board meetings.
- Please be advised all the documents and discussions in the Faculty Board meetings are in Norwegian and a proficient level of the language is thus required.

Group B - One member and at least two deputies from and among Group B (temporary academic staff)
Group D - Two members and at least two deputies from and among Group D (students)
Who has the right to nominate and vote?
The right to nominate and vote is granted to those who, at the start of the election:
- Are permanently employed in at least a half-time position, or
- Are employed or engaged for at least one year in at least a half-time position, or
- Have been continuously employed or engaged for at least one year in at least a half-time position.
Gr. B - Please check if you are eligible to vote. The register will be updated in March.
Gr. D - Please check if you are eligible to vote. The register will be updated in March.
