STEM Education Research Center - SERC

The STEM Education Research Center (Forskningssenter i realfagslæring, SERC) will work with our colleagues to implement and assess research-based teaching methods across the faculty of mathematics and natural sciences, with the specific objectives of lowering failure rates and increasing retention overall, with special consideration to the introductory course experience.

Main content

SERC will motivate and support faculty and students by engaging our colleagues in using their scientific skills to tackle teaching challenges, we can improve outcomes throughout the faculty and narrow the gap between research and teaching.

The center is a resource and project hub for education research projects across the Faculty, and will ensure project results are disseminated in a way that increases teaching competence broadly.

SERC is led by professor Sehoya Cotner.
