17:05-17:35 Knowledge Sharing: ECOPs and science diplomacy in the Ocean Decade
This session will explore the vital role of young scientists and science diplomacy in shaping the future of the Ocean Decade. It highlights the importance of collaboration across disciplines to address the challenges facing our ocean.

The University of Bergen (UiB) is organising this session and Rector Margareth Hagen will be introducing three ECOPs: Postdoctoral fellow Chloe Game from UiB's Department of Infomatics and part of the EU-funded SEAS programme; PhD Candidate Sejal Pramlall from UiB's Department of Physics and Technology and affiliated with SFI Smart Ocean; and marine biologist Daniel Cáceres Bartra, representing both the Sustainable Ocean Alliance and the One Ocean Youth Panel.

UPDATE! We are delighted to have UN Secretary-General’s Special Envoy for the Ocean and honorary doctor at UiB, Peter Thomson, speaking on the groundbreaking and innovative Norway-Pacific Ocean-Climate Scholarship Programme (N-POC) and UiB's long-standing relations with partners in the Pacific.

This session will focus on the transformative role of ports and One Ocean cities in driving sustainable practices, green business models, and resilient policies for the future of cities and regions. It will highlight how ports and urban spaces can lead the way in fostering sustainable development through innovation and collaboration.

18:30-19:00/19:50 Ocean and Human Rights: One Ocean Equity and the Right to a Healthy, Sustainable Ocean for All
This session will explore the critical intersection of human rights and ocean health. It will address how One Ocean Equity can guide efforts to protect resilient coastal communities and ecosystems, ensuring the human right to a clean and sustainable ocean for all, while advancing equity in ocean governance. The session will be followed by a deep dive discussion.
