Four scholarships for the development of new projects

The scholarships each with duration of one month will be awarded candidates who wish to develop research-applications within the field of global and development-related studies. This field encompasses a range of topics such as poverty, development, climate, human rights, international health, sustainability, water and society. Applicants should preferably hold a doctoral degree or provide documentation that they are in the closing phase of their work on the doctoral dissertation.
The scholarships will be allocated only for the development of research projects that will be located at UiB. Recipients of the scholarship will receive one month’s salary according to their qualification (applicants with a doctoral degree can expect salary grade 57). They will also be offered an office at UiB Global, Jekteviksbakken 31.
The letter of application must include a brief description of the planned project, a plan for the development of the project application, as well as details regarding the call for applications from the external source of finance, including the final deadline. Applicants must also provide a letter of recommendation from a researcher holding a permanent academic position in their research milieu or from a relevant research group at UiB.
The deadline for applications is March 20, 2015.
The applications will be evaluated by April 20, and the four recipients will have the option to start the scholarship period from the end of April or according to needs specified by the deadline for post-doctoral applications.

- Letter of application (up to one A4 page)
- CV
- Certified copies of diplomas and transcripts of marks
- Letter of recommendation from a researcher with a permanent position in the applicant’s research milieu or from a relevant group at UiB
