Science and the Global Sustainable Development Goals

Main content

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) were created by, and will be followed up by, joint inputs from science and politics.

Such a link between two worlds so far apart - power and truth-telling - will be built into the United Nations’ governance structure for the 17 SDGs in an attempt to maximize their overall impact on global development.

Tor Halvorsen will in his presentation discuss how the science/policy interface is conceived by the UN and how it will be organized. He will also give a critical evaluation of the reasoning behind the idea that this interface can drive the implementation of the 17 goals.

All are welcome!
