Grieg Research School in Interdisciplinary Music Studies

The successful Rommetveit Seminar 2011

The evaluation shows that the international research seminar "Aesthetic and Creative Learning Processes: For all? Anywhere?" was successful in all aspects; the academic programme, variation of formats, social programme and the organisation.

Main content

Most of the participants experienced the seminar theme Aesthetic and Creative Processes as highly relevant and found the different presentations interesting. The variety of formats, such as courses, concert, sequenced round table and Itime seemed to funcion well, and this is a concept that Grieg Research School very well can develop further for future seminars.

After a rather rainy start on Tuesday, the weather really improved and made Stord the most beautiful place on earth on Wednesday, which made the planned fjord excursion a very beautiful and memorable event. The feedback shows that many participants experienced the seminar atmosphere to be positive and inspiring.

The practical aspects of the seminar worked fine, and the organizing comittee at Stord did an excellent job. The seminar was arranged in cooperation between Grieg Research School and Stord/Haugesund University College, and as the host institution Stord/Haugesund University College states that such a seminar is also of great value for them as an institution - both academically and socially. And Grieg Research School would very much like to use Stord and Rommetveit as the location for another future seminar!

Grieg Research School is already planning the next research seminar which will be arranged at the University of Bergen 28 November - 2 December 2011. More information to appear on our website.
