Democratization and quota policies in Africa

Hovedinnhold

In Africa, women's quotas are becoming increasingly common, both in authoritarian and democratic regimes. Policymakers are frequently promoting the inclusion of women in decision-making bodies. Yet there is still scant knowledge of the intended and unintended consequences of women's representation. This seminar scrutinizes the relationship between quota policies and regime type.
