Cultural Heritage Management
The Section for Cultural Heritage Management at the University Museum of Bergen is responsible for managing caseworks in relation to the Norwegian Norwegian Law of Antiquities and excavating archaeological sites. Each year a variety of sites are investigated in Bergen Museum's district. The Section have also been delegated a central role in the documentation and conservation of rock art.
The section is adviser to the Directorate for Cultural Heritage, the County administrations and other heritage departments.
Archaeological Excavations
The Section for Cultural Heritage Management is conducting the archaeologal excavations within the administrative area of the University Museum of Bergen, the Hordaland, Sogn & Fjordane County and the southern part of Møre & Romsdal County (Sunnmøre).
