Eleni Skandalou

Eleni is a medical doctor from Greece. She completed her studies in Medicine at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece in 2019.

She joined the Renal Research Group for the first time in 2019 as a part of the Erasmus program. After that she went back to Greece and practised medicine, with a special focus on Internal Medicine, for almost three years, Then she decided to come back to Bergen and join the renal research group as a PhD student.

Eleni wrote "Living in Norway is a life-changing experience for me, mostly due to the cultural differences. Professional and social life in Norway is much different from what I used to know, and I always catch myself being amazed by the Norwegian ways.

I am very happy I made the decision to go into research in the field of nephrology, which is the one I am most interested in. I believe my Ph.D. will expand and enrich my field of expertise in medicine. My hope is to someday work as both clinician and researcher in the field of nephrology"
