The Research Group for Language Testing and Assessment was formed in 2002, as part of AKSIS, and became part of the Department of Foreign Languages, Faculty of Humanities, University of Bergen in 2013.
The group develops English tests for pupils in Norwegian schools. Our competencies include language testing and assessment, digital tests, applying results to the Common European Framework (CEFR) and statistical analysis of test data.
We are also building up a searchable electronic corpus (Coryl), which consists of English texts written by pupils in Norwegian schools.
Our research is centred around subjects connected to language testing and assessment. Members of the group have taken part in international research projects focused on the teaching and assessment of language.
