The interdisciplinary research project Childcrim started August 1st.
The project will focus on children’s criminal insanity and violence risk. By studying legal and forensic assessment, Childcrim aims to develop and provide knowledge about children’s criminal responsibility. The project will study child development, mental disorders and risk factors, and by this identify the need for changed legal practices. This is to accommodate fundamental challenges regarding children’s criminal responsibility.
The head of the project is Professor Linda Gröning, and the project is funded by the Research Council of Norway, University of Bergen and Haukeland University Hospital.
