Bachelor's Programme in Fine Art - Subject Structure

In August 2022 a new subject structure was implemented for the Bachelor's Programme in Fine Art at the KMD. The new subject structure sees a continuation of the course content from the previous structure, but clarifies what we expect from the students each semester, as well as showing the different competencies the students will gain from the programme.

Main content

The Bachelor's Programme in Fine Art is a three-year programme amounting to 180 ECTS credits. Students must complete subjects amounting to 30 ECTS credits each semester, and must have completed 120 ECTS befor starting their final semester.

General information about prioritization of elective courses
As a Bachelor student at the Art Academy, you must prioritize your electives within given deadlines each semester. Remember to check the teaching times for the courses in the course descriptions (link to timetable), to ensure that teaching in your course does not clash. Make sure you understand the teaching activity in the course (read the course description, especially "Supplementary semester information" and prioritize the courses you want to take in Studentweb. It is important that you meet the deadlines for you to be assigned courses by the start of the semester. The courses will be distributed according to priority and capacity and cannot be changed after allocation.

Access to workshops and equipment
Students may have the opportunity to complete workshop access courses at the beginning of each semester. The workshop access courses are required in order to get access to the different workshops.
Please note: You get access course within the introduction courses MEME. Some workshop access courses require previously acquired technical experience/competence to gain access. Required experience/competence should be described in the course content, linked from each workshop access course below. Please contact the workshop engieer if you have questions regarding the experience that may be approved.
