Election at Faculty of Fine Art, Music and Design
A general election will be held at the Faculty of Fine Art, Music, and Design in the spring of 2025. All employee representatives in the Faculty Board and all three Department Boards will be replaced. In addition, new representatives are elected from the groups of research fellows, temporary research positions, and students. The deadline for candidate proposals is Wednesday, April 2nd at 12:00.

Representatives will be elected from Group A - academic staff, Group B - PhD candidates and temporary research positions, and Group C - technical and administrative staff. Group D - students are responsible for organizing their own election.
Election of members from Group A - academic staff
Representatives from all employees at all three departments will be elected to the Faculty Board. Representatives among employees at the respective departments will be elected to the Department Board. The election is a preferential vote and and the election period is from 01.08.2025 - 31.07.2029.

How to nominate candidates:
- Those who have the right to vote in an election have the right to propose candidates for the same election. Check the Electoral register tab to see if you have voting rights.
- Proposals must be in writing to this email address to the secretary of the Election Board. Deadline is April 2nd at 12:00.
- The proposal can include one or more candidates. Make sure to be clear about which candidate is proposed for which board.
- Proposals for candidates to governing bodies must be submitted by at least the same number of proposers as the number of candidates the proposal contains.
- A proposer cannot propose themselves as a candidate.
- No one can propose more than one proposal.
Note: According to UiB election regulations § 8-2, there are strict rules for withdrawing as a proposed candidate. Therefore, confirm with the person you are proposing that they are actually interested in standing as a candidate. There is nothing preventing a person from running again for a board they have already served on.
Election of members from Group B - PhD candidates and temporary research positions
Representatives from the entire Group B at KMD will be elected to the Faculty Board. Representatives tied to the three respective departments will be elected to the Department Boards. The election is a preferential vote and the election period is from 01.08.2025 - 31.07.2026.

Representatives from Group C at KMD will be elected to both the Faculty Board and all three Department Boards. For the Department Boards will the candidates be assigned to the various councils by drawing lots. The election is a preferential vote, and the election period is from 01.08.2025 to 31.07.2029.

Supplement to the Election Regulations for the Conduct of Elections to the Institute Board from Group C at KMD
The candidate with the most votes in Group C for the institute board election is drawn by lot as a representative to institute board x. The candidate with the second most votes is drawn by lot as a representative to institute board y. The candidate with the third most votes is drawn by lot as a representative to institute board z.
Candidates of the opposite gender with the most votes who are not elected are drawn by lot as deputy representatives to institute boards x, y, and z.
Electoral register
As an employee you can log in to The Electoral Register to check that you are listed.
To have the right to vote, you must be employed in a permanent position of at least 50%. Also those who are temporarily employed for a period of at least one year in a minimum 50% position at the time of the election or have had a continuous employment relationship for 12 months in at least a 50% position have the right to vote.
To cast a vote, you must have a USER ACCOUNT AT UIB.

Nominated candidates
The election is a preferential vote, and the following will be elected during the voting:
For the Faculty Board:
3 permanent representatives from Group A, the remaining nominees will become deputy representatives.
1 permanent representative from Group B, the remaining nominees will become deputy representatives.
1 permanent representative from Group C, the remaining nominees will become deputy representatives.
For the Institute Board:
5 permanent representatives from Group A, the remaining nominees will become deputy representatives.
1 permanent representative from Group B, the remaining nominees will become deputy representatives.
1 permanent representative from Group C, 1 nominee will become deputy representative.
The students have already held their election for both the Faculty Board and the Institute Councils, and the candidates will be announced at the same time as the main faculty election on June 6.
The election will take place from June 2 to June 5, 2025.
