I am a SEAS programme postdoctoral fellow at the University of Bergen in the department of Physics and Technology and NORCE Center. My background is Materials Engineering with a specialization in the field of bioinspired coatings, megasonic cleaning, micro-nanoscaled heat transfer phenomena, water-repellent wearable devices, etc.

My current project is focused on development of bioinspired transparent antibiofouling coatings for marine sensor. This multidisciplinary project aims to develop an antibiofouling coating, which provides long-term fouling resistance and enhances the lifespan of both optical and nonoptical marine sensors. A major part of the project involves the development of low-surface-energy microscaled coatings for demonstrating antibiofouling properties. The study involves the examination of the physical, chemical, and mechanical properties of coatings, including surface topography, surface free energy, hydrophobic and hydrophilic nature, microroughness, robustness, and elastic modulus. Furthermore, this project also involves examining studies related to the suitability of antibiofouling strategies, to support the lifespan of the sensors. In addition, this antibiofouling coating must be substrate independent, compatible with marine sensors, and environmentally friendly. The project includes investigating the effect of antifouling coating on the communication system of diverse optical and non-optical marine sensors and exploring the commercial aspects of successful antifouling materials.
