Mette Vesterhus, M.D. (UiB 1999), Ph.D. (UiB 2009), works as Full Professor at the University of Bergen and Senior Consulting Gastroenterologist & Hepatologist at Haraldsplass Deaconess Hospital in Bergen, Norway. With a particular focus on primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC) and other autoimmune liver diseases, her main areas of interest are prognostic biomarkers and non-invasive assessment of liver fibrosis (including liver elastography), as well as clinical trials in autoimmune liver diseases. She is Group Leader of the Haraldsplass Liver Research Group and Clinical Group Bergen of the Norwegian PSC Research Center (NoPSC) and National PI for the Strategic Prospective Scandinavian PSC Biobank (ScandPSC).  Internationally, she is a Board Member of the International PSC Study Group as well as the UEG Meeting of Members.
