Eduardo Navas: Remix in Cultural Analytics
Main content
Eduardo Navas is currently doing research on patterns of YouTube video
remixes. For his lecture, he will discuss the evolution of remix in
different viral videos and their responses. He will focus specifically on
when and how a video remix takes effect in complementary relation to other
YouTube videos. Navas will reflect on productions of original footage and
remix as important vehicles of communication and creative practice. In this
lecture, Navas will expand on his theory of the selective remix, which is
one of four forms of remix that he has defined in his research.
Eduardo Navas is a Post-Doctorate Fellow in the Department of Information
Science and Media Studies at The University of Bergen, Norway in affiliation
with the Software Studies Lab at University of California San Diego.
