This confocal system is reliable working horse and well equipped for a broad range of dyes, long term timelapse and emission fingerprinting (META detector). The most common samples are fixed cells and tissue and 4 seperate colors can easily be combined. A heating chamber covering the whole microscope and a CO2-controller makes long term timelapses feasible, cells have survived for more than a weekend under these conditions. The movie to the right shows cells happily dividing and moving around during a time period of 16 hours. The low magnification/NA objectives are of high quality making the miroscope well suited for also lager specimens, e.g. small fish larvae.

Specifications

Equipped with 4 lasers, 2 regular detectors (PMTs) and a META detector, which may also serve as an additional detector. A transmission detector enables confocal "Pseudo-DIC". A heating chamber and a CO2 controller fasilitates live time experiments. In addition a CCD-camera is mounted for regular widefield fluorescence and brightfield imaging.
