Simon Dankel
Interim manager of RUHS
Simon (PhD) is Professor at the Faculty of Medicine, UiB. His primary research interests are energy metabolism, nutrition and lifestyle diseases. Dankel leads several research projects, including the dietary studies CARBFUNC and CarbCount (Diakost study), and is part of the Mohn center for diabetes precision medicine (Precise-Dia), which is supported by the Trond Mohn Foundation. He is also project manager for Vestlandslegen, and is part of the Health Directorate's National Council for Nutrition. Dankel is acting head of FHU.

Hilda E.A. Andersen
Senior Engineer/Study Coordinator (UiB, K2)
Hilda holds a bachelor's degree as a veterinarian from Brazil and has been employed at UiB since 1997, where she first worked on experimental animals at Vivarium for the Kidney and Heart Group at former Medicine A. In 2007 she started working in the Lung group at the department of Clinical Science, UoB, as a field worker in the COPD project (ECLIPSE), Bergen COPD and Pulmonary Health Survey (ECRHS and RHINESSA). She has a lot of experience from clinical studies, both as a field worker and coordinator. Hilda started at RUHS in January 2018.

Trine Leikanger
Chief Engineer/Study Coordinator (UiB, K2)
Trine holds a bachelor degree in bioengineering and completed her master degree in human nutrition autumn 2018. She worked as a temp health secretary/bioengineer at a doctor's office from 2014-2018. Through the last year of her master she worked as a field worker in the randomized dietary study CARBFUNC. Trine started to work as a temp at RUSH spring 2018, and started her full time position january 2019.

Rita Pedersen
Chief Engineer/Study Coordinator (UiB, K2)
Rita holds a bachelor's degree in molecular biology and a master's degree in human nutrition, where she graduated in 2011. She then earned a doctorate in bioactive proteins and peptides, and how these affect lipid metabolism and development of atherosclerosis in rodents. After completing her PhD degree, she was hired as a chief engineer at the RUHS in March 2016.
Rita is currently on leave.
Marie Sannes Ramsvik
Chief Engineer/Study Coordinator (UiB, K2)
Marie holds a bachelor's and a master's degree in clinical nutrition, and is a licensed clinical dietitian. She graduated in the spring of 2013 from the University of Copenhagen and continued with a PhD at the University of Bergen. Her research has focused on the effects of bioactive marine components on lipid metabolism in both humans and rodents. Marie joined FHU in the spring of 2025.
