Education Committee

The university’s Education Committee is appointed by the University Board to develop the University of Bergen as an educational institution.

Main content

The committee is an advisory organ for the University Board in matters of educational strategy and shall initiate and coordinate strategic developmental work at the institution. The committee’s tasks include proposing future strategic areas of commitment within the university’s total educational programme based on the education reports from the individual faculties.

The committee is chaired by the Vice Rector for Education and comprises in addition the pro-/vice deans for teaching in the faculties, along with three student representatives. The Director of the Division of Student Affairs serves as secretary for the committee and shall, in consultation with the vice rector for education, prepare a statement in cases that are presented for consideration by the committee.
