UNESCO and The Special Collections
Main content
The Special Collections currently have five collections that are part of the UNESCO program Norway’s Documentary Heritage. In addition, the photo collection of Sophus Tromholt has been included in the international register of UNESCO’s Memory of the World as one of the few photographic collections in the world. The UNESCO Memory of the World program is connected, among other things, to the World Heritage Convention (1972) and UNESCO’s Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage (2003).
