The group’s main objective is to study growth and change processes in individuals - both in the context of psychotherapy, other psychological treatments, and in the context of their everyday lives. Topics of interest is mechanisms of change, psychotherapy processes, treatment outcome, psychotherapy training and clinical supervision. Research in natural clinical settings is encouraged. The guiding theoretical models for the group’s research efforts is relational approaches, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, developmental psychopathology and recovery processes. With its practice-near orientation, the research emphasises user involvement and user empowerment. Methodologically, the group endorses qualitative as well as quantitative approaches to data collection and analysis.
