Urban space in Bergen—how do we prepare for the future?

Bergen should be a good city for citizens and visitors, but how do we find room for everything we need in our limited space?

The battle over land in our cramped city is intensifying. Bergen’s limited area needs to accommodate more than housing, open spaces, and sites of cultural heritage.

The public debate often focuses on passenger transport, and less on delivery of goods and services, which often work behind the scenes. How do we allocate space for goods distribution, app-based food delivery, waste management, construction, and other logistics?

Subina Shrestha (UiB) researches sustainable urban planning. In conversation with Simon Øverland (UiB), she will discuss how we best use the urban space in Bergen.

The event takes place at Litteraturhuset i Bergen and is free and open for all. The conversation will be in English.
