In a period where the importance of green energy is becoming ever more crucial and the involvement by the EU as a regulator but also as an actor is on the rise, this event attempts to discuss the procurement methods necessary to promote policy goals for a green transition in the energy markets. Our expert speakers include Peter Trepte, who delved into the Emergence of Green Public Procurement (GPP) in a global and European setting. He discussed the progression of Commission policies and explore international developments. Erik Midtbø Kvamme and Kristina Risvær are legal specialists in environmental law and advisors at Inventura AS, focused on the Role of procurement in Accelerating the Energy Transition. They discussed recent proposals like the Net-Zero Industry Act and the Critical Raw Materials Act in the EU/EEA and Norway’s proposal to revise § 7-9 in the Norwegian Procurement Regulation.

About the speachers: 

Peter Trepte

Barrister with Littleton Chambers in London and of Counsel to Grayston & Company in Brussels. Peter is also Senior Fellow in Public Procurement Law at the University of Nottingham. He specializes in public procurement and competition law, with a background in EU law and is the author of reference books in public procurement issues.

Erik Midtbø Kvamme: 

Legal specialist in environmental law. Currently, he works as advisor at Inventura AS. Works with customers in public and private sector on procurement projects, focusing on EU/EEA developments.

Kristina Risvær: 

Works as Manager in Inventura as a legal specialist in procurement law. Her focus and experience is on issues of procurement sustainability, where she gives advice to public and private entities acquiring goods and services.
