B'Waves 2016

About B'Waves

Main content

This workshop is focussed on various aspects of wave breaking in waves at free surfaces. The main topics are wave breaking in coastal regions, wave breaking in deep water, and breaking of internal and interfacial waves. The workshop will bring together researchers using a variety of techniques, such as field measurements, experiments, numerical approximations, and mathematical modeling of breaking waves.

Through a number of keynote and invited lectures, the state of the art in wave breaking will be reviewed. The main goal is to incite discussions about the limitations of the current technology, and to identify possible avenues leading to a better description of this challenging physical phenomenon. We also aim at defining standards for benchmarking new approaches.

The first B'Waves workshop B'Waves 2014 was held at the INRIA, Bordeaux in 2014, and B'Waves 2016 will continue to provide a platform for discussions by featuring only a limited number of invited talks with plenty of room for discussions.
