CENTENOL is overseen by an internal management team, complemented by a partner coordination group with representatives from partner institutions, and an advisory committee of leading international experts in EU and EEA law.

Management:

The center's management groups consist of:

  • Professor Christian Franklin (Director of the center and leader of Work Package 2 on Free Movement)
  • Halvard Haukeland Fredriksen (Co-Director and leader of Work Package 1 on Social Security Law)
  • Associate Professor Melanie Hack (Leader of the Work Package 3 on Labor Law)
  • Associate Professor Ingrid Margrethe Halvorsen Barlund (Leader of Work Package 4 on Europeanization of Norwegian Law)

Partner Coordination Group:

In addition to the center's director and co-director, this group consists of members from the center's partners: University of Agder, University of Stavanger, Reykjavik University, and Liechtenstein-Institut. The group helps coordinate activities and consists of the following members:

Advisory Committee:

The management group is supported by a group of international experts on EU/EEA law, known as the Advisory Committee. This committee provides valuable advice and input on the center's research goals, activities, and development.

The Advisory Committee consists of the following members:

  • Professor Dr. Cathrine Barnard, University of Cambridge – one of the leading experts on the EU's internal market and free movement of persons.
  • Dr. Henrik Bull, Justice of the Supreme Court of Norway – former judge at the EFTA Court and former director of the Center for European Law at UiO.
  • Dr. Karin Fløistad, partner at the law firm Simonsen Vogt Wiig – chair of the Competition Appeals Board and member of the Public Procurement Appeals Board.
  • Ida Sørebø, Director of the Legislation Department at the Ministry of Justice and Public Security – author of numerous publications on EU and EEA law.
  • Associate Professor Dr. Jaan Paju, Stockholm University, and Associate Professor II at UiB – author of numerous publications on EU, EEA, and Nordic social security coordination and their impact on national legal systems.
  • Senior Researcher Dr. Georges Baur, Liechtenstein-Institut – former Deputy Secretary-General of EFTA, author of numerous publications on the impact of EEA law (including free movement of persons) on Liechtenstein law.
